Protection For Your Investment
Kipinä® and 'Start at the Finnish'® are registered, protected trademarks, which means only fully-licensed and approved early childhood facilities can use the Kipinä name and benefit from its reputation.
Together, we agree on a protected territory around your school so you'll be the only one in your catchment with a Kipinä preschool.
Each franchise is for ten years. As you approach the end of the period you can extend your franchise for another ten years, up to four times. This means you are in control of your territory for up to fifty years.
There is no renewal fee when you extend. You just have to be in full compliance with the territory agreement.
Academic Excellence, Robust Support, Teacher Training, Quality Assurance
Your teachers will be certified in Finnish Pedagogy at post-graduate level by completing short online programs especially designed for foreign teachers - delivered by our partners Häme University, Finland. Afterwards, we train your teachers in mastering the Kipinä curriculum, lesson planning, skills tracking and use of our extensive teacher tools and resources. This training takes place at your school shortly before you open, so we will be there with your team.
Our Academic Team continues to work closely with your principal or teacher with weekly catchups for the first 6 months of operation, and monthly thereafter. Our team also monitors your schools performance online through our software management tools and by reviewing materials prepared for classes, as well as activities shared with parents.
Every year we conduct an academic audit of your preschool. We interview select staff and parents and we conduct a survey of all parents.
The Kipinä Curriculum is a "living" program, We update it regularly, taking advantage of the latest scientific research and developments.
Business Support, Financial Models, Procurement, Best Operating Procedures
There's more to your Kipinä preschool than the academic side. We support our partners in opening their schools - helping with many areas including; procurement, marketing, recruitment, budgeting, financial models, location assessments, design and strategy.
After your school is up and running we provide advice on a wide range of administrative issues from managing tours, to communicating with parents and staff, trouble shooting, and efficiency.
Nothing is left to Chance
Every Kipinä Franchise Includes:
A complete Early Years Academic System

Kipinä gives your school a full early years programme from birth to age 6, with weekly lesson plans, phonics, and character development already embedded. This is not a loose framework. It is a ready-to-run system your teachers can deliver with confidence. Built from Finnish pedagogy and used in 28 schools in 15 countries. Your teachers don't design it. They deliver it.
Unique Enhanced Finland Curriculum (in English, French, Russian, Romanian, Azerbaijan, Arabic - or any language you need)
Weekly Lesson Plans

Every week, teachers know exactly what to teach, why they're teaching it, and how it connects to each child's developmental stage. Plans are age-specific and scaffolded — so the structure is there, but the classroom still feels like a classroom, not a script.
200+ Weekly Lesson Plans. Your Teachers Will Love You
Teacher Training & Cert.

Teachers are certified through structured online modules built on Finnish early childhood pedagogy; the same standard across the entire Kipinä global network, with principal training delivered in partnership with HAMK University of Applied Sciences in Finland. New staff reach your quality standard faster. Experienced teachers develop further. And your school stops being dependent on a handful of people to hold it together.

Skills Monitoring & AI Assistant

Every child develops differently. Kipinä tracks 70 to 260 skill indicators per child each year, from motor development and literacy readiness to social confidence, through everyday classroom observation.
Teachers get a clearer view of where each child is, while the AI layer helps identify patterns early and flags children who may need extra support. Kipinä also recommends activities already aligned with upcoming lesson plans, so teachers can respond faster without creating extra work.
This does not replace teacher judgement. It strengthens it.
Phonics, Language & Character Development

In Kipinä, we use our own programme to develop phonics and early literacy through songs, stories, structured routines, and guided activities that strengthen vocabulary, listening, and sound awareness every day. The result is consistent early language development without turning the classroom into a drill session.
Character Development

Kipinä also weaves the 6 Cs — Critical Thinking, Creativity, Communication, Collaboration, Character, and Citizenship into daily practice. Children are not only learning academic content. They are developing habits, attitudes, and social strengths through our focus on developing positive character traits such as respect, responsibility, bravery, empathy, peacefulness, and gratitude.
One operating system for teachers, leaders, and parents
Kipinä brings curriculum, delivery, observations, child-progress tracking, AI support, and parent communication into one operating environment. Teachers do not need to jump between systems, and leaders gain a clearer view of what is happening across the school.
Parents see meaningful progress in real time through the app: classroom moments, learning snapshots, and visible developmental growth. That level of transparency builds confidence, strengthens retention, and supports premium positioning.

Teachers and parents access songs, stories, videos, and resources inside one organised system.

Progress is tracked clearly across learning, character development, and everyday achievements.

Teachers share real-time classroom updates that keep parents informed and involved.

Parents see structured developmental progress, not just photos and daily updates.
